Choosing Vacuum Cleaners

Vacuum cleaners are one type of home appliance that has undergone dramatic change in recent years. There have been various additions and improvements made that mean the typical vacuum cleaner can pick up considerably more dust, will require less cleaning, and can even be manoeuvred around the home easier and with considerably less effort. With so much choice now available it is important that you choose the most appropriate vacuum cleaner for your needs.

Upright vacuum cleaners are designed for use on carpets because they have powerful rotating brushes that lift dirt from the roots of the carpet. This gives you a greater all round clean and it can help to remove even the most stubborn dirt and lift the most difficult debris. They also tend to come with a large variety of attachments that enable you to get into tight spaces, under obstructions, and to clean curtains and upholstery.

The cylinder vacuum cleaner was designed with hard floors in mind. It does not have the rotating brushes that an upright vacuum does, but it offers easier movement and usually has a longer wire than upright vacuum cleaners do. There may not be as many attachments with a cylinder vacuum but the nozzle can usually be removed for attacking especially dirty areas and modern cylinder vacuums do have more to offer.

There are also more specialist types of vacuum cleaners available. Quiet models are perfect for situations where noise is a major concern while models designed to deal with pet hairs are good at lifting these stubborn bits of debris from the home. Handheld cleaners are especially portable and they can be used in caravans, cars, or in any other location that is severely restricted in terms of space.

Not all vacuum cleaners are created equally. You should choose the one that best suits your needs and this means deciding between bagless and bagged vacuum cleaners and whether you want the carpet cleaning benefits of an upright vacuum cleaner or the manoeuvrability and ease of a cylinder vacuum. You can also choose from a range of vacuums that are designed for specific uses including quiet vacuums, handheld cleaners, and more.
